The following mobile phone services have been made available by Thibologa Sign Language Institute for South African users. Please note that a WAP enabled mobile device and GPRS are required.

• SMS the keyword 'sasl' to 36922. (Cost R 5 an SMS)
• The system sends back an SMS with the following: Lesson's available : 1 Months, 2 Pronouns, 3 Questions or 4 Time.
• Choose the lesson you would like to review by sending an SMS with the word 'sasl' and the lesson number' - for example 'sasl L2' (This will cost the R 5)
• You will receive an SMS with appropriate links to access the lesson content.

• SMS the word 'dictionary' followed by the word you're looking for - example 'Dictionary Hello' to 36922. (Cost R 5)
• If the word is in the dictionary, the system sends back an SMS with a link to the video.
• Accessing the link will allow you to download the appropriate video to your cellphone.
• If the word is not in the dictionary, then the system will sends back an SMS that says 'Sorry, that word is not available in the SASL dictionary at this time.'

• SMS the word 'mmst' to 36922. (Cost R 5)
• You will receive an SMS with instructions on how to select the template of your choice
• The system sends back an sms with links to the different MMS templates available.
• Select your template of choice by sending and SMS with the appropriate keyword to 36922 (Cost R 5)
• The system sends back an SMS with a link to the video.
• Accessing the link will allow you to download the appropriate video to your cellphone.

TSLI may send marketing information to users via SMS, MMS or email to inform users of new products and services. Messages are based on previous purchases of TSLI products. Users wishing not to receive these messages may send us an SMS, MMS or email to inform us that they do not wish to receive any message.

Each SMS costs R5, and R5 to download template of your choice/pick the lesson, which includes WAP charges.

To use this service send an SMS including/containing a keyword e.g Dictionary [word], mmst or Basic SASL to 36922. The instruction to download appropriate content will be downloaded onto your cellphone. Dictionary Content cost only R5 as it's a direct reply while both SASL MMS Templates and Basic SASL will cost R10 which is R5 for instruction and another R5 to download template of your choice in SASL MMS Templates and to pick up lesson in Basic SASL.

WAP/GPRS reguired to access download pages and the ability to view video.

Failed requests or errors charged.

No additional separate consent process is needed.

Thibologa Sign Language Institution would like to introduce the TSLI Mobile Site to enable both Deaf and Hearing people use it to market themselves, get information and news about each other that will help them build a relations with each other.

The aim of this program is to create a “VISUAL WORLD” on a cellphone for the Deaf people to get information, news, skills, buy, sell, market their skills, product and services in the language that they fully understand which is Sign Language.

This is to bring both the Deaf and Hearing people together where Deaf can get information about the product, services and skills in Sign Language while Hearing people can learn about Deaf skills, product, services that will be presented in written text.

Other NGO's, private business and government can also use the site to market their services and product in Sign Language (Their product, services will be presented in Sign Language to the Deaf people)
